Julie Ehemann

Region 15 Director

Ehemann, now in her fourth term as a Shelby County Commissioner, has seen firsthand the opioid epidemic’s impact on her community through both her public service and her private sector work. A pharmacist by trade, Ehemann spent more than 20 years working in and managing several different western Ohio pharmacies. During this time, the overprescribing of opioids was becoming more prevalent, and her profession was on the frontlines of the emerging opioid crisis. As a commissioner, she’s seen how the epidemic has impacted her county’s children’s services, the justice system, and other addiction treatment services. A former volunteer EMT, Ehemann has also served on numerous nonprofit boards, including Shelby County CASA, the American Red Cross, and others. A graduate of Ohio Northern University, Ehemann has been married to her husband, Kurt, for 36 years and they have one daughter and two grandsons.

Ehemann views her service on the board as an opportunity to help local communities provide the services needed to address the opioid crisis and to develop prevention strategies to fight addiction long-term.
