Meet the Team: Mackenzie Betts
Mackenzie Betts, Partnership and Outreach Manager
Mackenzie Betts has spent two decades helping people and organizations find their voice. Today, she’s using that experience to advance prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts across Ohio.
Mackenzie has served as Partnership and Outreach Manager for the OneOhio Recovery Foundation since 2025. In this role, she collaborates with the Foundation’s 19 Regional Boards – groups composed of volunteers representing local elected officials, behavioral health professionals, business leaders, and individuals with lived experience. Uniting them all is a shared passion for supporting individuals and families harmed by addiction.
Previously, Mackenzie worked for the Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health (ADAMH) Board of Franklin County, managing grant and sponsorship programs and leading communications initiatives aimed at reducing stigma around mental health and substance use disorders.
In that role, Mackenzie helped individuals share their recovery stories, often for the first time, relating eye-opening experiences that shed light on the barriers many face before entering treatment while reinforcing the reality that recovery is possible. The impact of those stories continue to shape Mackenzie’s work at OneOhio, where she is committed to supporting organizations across the state in breaking down barriers to care.
Mackenzie previously served in outreach and communications roles with several non-profit associations representing various professions including public libraries and county auditors.
As Mackenzie participates in her first grant cycle with the Foundation, she is eager to continue to learn about the process and to see the tangible impact of OneOhio’s funding across the state.
In her free time, Mackenzie volunteers with her teenage son at Columbus Humane, helping socialize cats and kittens as they await adoption. She lives in Columbus with her husband and two sons.
