REGIONAL GRANT CYCLE 2 AWARDS

The OneOhio Recovery Foundation is committed to ensuring all Foundation funding awards support evidence-based, forward-looking strategies for the purposes of prevention, treatment, recovery, and abatement of substance use and co-occurring disorders.

In Regional Grant Cycle 2, the OneOhio Recovery Foundation has made $45 million available across OneOhio’s 19 Regions to support locally driven, evidence-informed work that responds to the local impacts of substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health conditions, putting opioid settlement dollars to work where they can make a meaningful difference.

Project funding directly serves people with substance use disorder, including those with co-occurring mental health conditions, as well as family members affected by substance use disorder, according to purposes approved by the OneOhio Memorandum of Understanding.

While we won’t be able to fund every application, many more funding opportunities lie ahead, and we encourage Ohio-based organizations to stay engaged and apply in the future.

Grant Review and Agreement Process

All grant awards were approved by the OneOhio Board of Directors following a robust, multi-step process designed to ensure local input, integrity, accountability, and alignment with OneOhio's approved purposes.

For Regional Grant Cycle 2, applicants first submitted Funding Inquiries through the OneOhio Grant Portal. Eligible inquiries were reviewed by Regional Grant Review Committees, and selected applicants were invited to submit Technical Applications. Where applicable, submissions were reviewed by the OneOhio Expert Panel to ensure alignment with evidence and the OneOhio MOU. Successful applications were then reviewed by Foundation staff and the Grant Oversight Committee, with final funding decisions made by the Board of Directors.

Ensuring integrity throughout the application and review process is paramount, which is why systems are in place to identify and eliminate conflicts of interest at all levels of the review process. (The Quick Guide to Avoiding Conflicts of Interest is available here.)

NOTE: The Foundation is working with approved organizations to complete the grant agreement process and move funding into communities across Ohio. Grants are contingent on a fully executed grant agreement.

Grant Application Data and Resources

At the OneOhio Recovery Foundation, we are committed to the highest standards of accountability. With the responsibility of managing significant resources, each grant award is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of Ohioans and supporting communities affected by the addiction crisis.

In our continued commitment to transparency, we provide not only the summary table of funded projects below but also access to project summaries for awarded projects in each region, available here.

NOTE: While the Foundation is tasked with distributing 55% of the opioid settlement funds, 15% goes directly to the State of Ohio and 30% goes directly to Ohio local governments.
